Old Turkic Inscriptions are scattered in different geographies such as Mongolia, Kazakhstan, East Turkistan, Turfan, Tibet, Southern Siberia, Eastern Europe, Altai Region, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Aiming to reach information about the language, history, life and beliefs of the ancient Turks based on the findings and documents, scientists are making great efforts to read and document these inscriptions and to establish a relationship between them and their counterparts.
The work titled Old Turkic Inscriptions in Central Asia, which is the subject of the study, is the product of a very important project in terms of introducing new inscriptions, presenting the transcription and transliteration of the inscriptions found in a correct and understandable way and setting an example for future studies.
In the article, it is aimed to give brief information about Ziya BUNYADOV, a full member of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, and to introduce the work titled Old Turkic Inscriptions in Central Asia, which was prepared as a tribute to the 100th anniversary of his birth.
